I use my computer to view e-mail, answer it for my volunteer activities and keep track of records for the organization which I serve as President. This modem/router combination was wonderful when we found it at Staples. We needed to connect both computers so both family members could work on their own computers at the same time. It is so easy to install and use. Thanks, Staples!

The modem itself is effective and much more stable and reliable than the ISP-provided modem it replaces. However, the web-based setup screens are more than a little non-intuitive and difficult, especially for a simple home setup. The only saving grace is that the setup wizard provided on a CD takes care of the issues that are not easily resolved using the web interface.
This is either definitely made for business and / or power-user use, or is very poorly designed for home use. Lots of network / modem / router experience is needed for this one.

    I bought this modem to replace my Qwest unit and am very pleased. Setup was simple and results were immediate. The Actiontec modem from Qwest never performed like this one. The speed tests I ran at DSL Reports are very impressive, and, it was almost free with my Staples Rewards Bucks!

      After multiple calls to the phone company about my DSL kicking me offline. I rewired my internal wiring for wires that had been in less than a year. Turned out that all i needed was a new Modem.

              I wasn't aware that Staples was an authorized dealer for AT&T Modems. Mine had quite connecting & needed to be replaced. This one is so much faster than the original one I purchased 3 yr's ago.
