      The basyx Adjustable Table Top T-Leg Base BSXBTA72X is made for tops 24" to 30" wide and 60" to 72" long. These are factory laminate top sizes. Your 40" wide top might be tipsy. The tops should be fastened to the table base with the proper length screws.
