Comments about iBuyPower LAN Warrior II ST503slc Desktop PC:
The tech person selling this told blue sky'd us, telling us it did everything, had blue tooth reader, card slots, and would last 10 to 20 years. We wanted something convenient, cool, and powerful, to bring us ease of use for years. The very next week, the tech fellow was gone. On the day of our cash purchase, a Saturday, we were told the device was in stock, and we could have it by Thursday. Wrong. Not in stock, and he had trouble making the add on memory work. Anyway, two weeks and a day after purchase, another tech brought it out to the house (we bought the easy tech two year package), loaded up our stuff, and brought up the computer, only to find that the blue tooth keyboard and mouse wouldn't work. Voila!! no blue tooth reader in the machine. My wife drove ten miles to the store, and they tried to make her pay for the adapter, but relented finally. The tech installed the adapter, and after that the machine would no longer boot. He took it back, and another week went by. Brings it back out, sets it up, and Voila!!! won't boot again, and this is when we also discovered there was no card reader as well. Tech takes it back to the shop, and says, come on down, and we will send this rig back, and select another for you with the features you want: liquid cooling, blue tooth, big HD with SATA drive, big ram, great everything, and we'll price match it. OK, I go to the store, wait over an hour, and he can't figure one out, and told me to go ahead home, he'd consult with the manager and get back to me the next day with a solution to a new box. Next day, no call so I go in. A different manager is there, saying he didn't know anything, so he called everyone to the front and they parlayed. In the end, they said, basically, that there was only one machine that suited my needs, and that they could make the original one work. I didn't believe them, told them I had lost faith in the machine, and wanted at least a fresh machine to start with. No, trust us, we can make it work. We will figure it out, and let you know tomorrow. Five days later, no one called, so I called and spoke with the assistant, who said he'd get to the bottom of this, make it work, and call me by end of day the next day. That was last evening. No call. I called this morning and this fellow is at home in bed, and the poor soul left with dealing with me was at a loss to explain anything. I'm now waiting for yet another call, a whole month later. If I don't have a functioning machine up to my specifications sitting in my home by tomorrow, I expect to have a full refund, and compensation for my trouble. We have purchased, literally, several thousand of dollars worth of Staples equipment and supplies, and feel like we've been treated shabbily. I await to see the end game on this one, but we are not happy, and I'm not sure that we can be made so. At best, we will end up with a machine that doesn't meet our original specifications, and we will be ever concerned about it's functionality.
