  Yes, this has an extra shelf and adapter so it can be used with other devices, including the Kindle Paper White. It just won't fit up on the main Kindle Fire stand as pictured.

  No, this would be too small for an iPad. A Kindle Fire measures only 7". The iPad measures 9.7".

  The bracket is made to hold the 7" kindle. If the aux out and mini power input are located the same distance apart as the smaller kindle it may work but would sit off center. It includes a second bracket that allows you to connect the ports with loose wire (aux and power) but they're not very long but possibly replaceable. They make other version so I was thinking about contacting iHome for some additional brackets, specifically my wife android phone.
