My old player which was a gift had broken and as I was shopping for another item at Staples I noticed this player on display.

There was a choice of three different brands and I looked at each, however, the heavy solid feel of this player and the name brand made my decision.

I was only hesitant for a second as there was another player on display which was the same brand as the one I had recently had and it was half the price. But I considered the known quality of the sound (adequate but high freq.'s often caused static and it had no external volume control) of the one I had and the known quality of the Memorex name and I chose the Memorex.

      I love to take my music with me, but headphones and ear buds bother my ears, and the wires many times get in the way. With this great portable little unit, I get great quality sound and can enjoy my music walking, biking, everywhere I go and I can also share it with family. It also seems to offer good protection for my mp3 player, sturdy case, foam pad for it to lay on, soft net to hold it from slipping around, and a soft flap that lays over the top to protect it from scratches. The power button is on the inside to prevent it from accidentally getting pressed and running down the batteries. There's also a tab on the side where you can attach a carbuncle.

              I like the sound that this unit puts out. I use it for snowboarding because I don't like using earplugs while riding. It's a little big but sounds really good. I can put it in my sweatshirt pocket while hiking and two people can enjoy the tunes. I can't wait to bring it rock climbing this summer. If I was running this wouldn't work but for hanging out, working on the house, etc., its a great deal.
