Most colored chalk leaves a shadow on the board so that you see what you wrote in the colored chalk until you wash the board. This erases completely - just as cleanly as white chalk. It is great to be able to draw part of a graph with a color, or use it to follow a quantity when solving equations on the board. This would also be good for drawing pictures on a chalkboard.

This brand is the only brand that works well on my classroom's chalkboard. The colors are great - very vibrant. But the chalk itself seems very soft, wears down quickly, and breaks easily.

This chalk is great for classroom use, as it is easily erased, as opposed to normal colored chalk which typically has the consistancy of sidewalk chalk and is difficult to remove without washing the entire chalkboard. Also provides a large and vibrant variety of colors. My students love using them!
