THe switch aloud me to connect my computers with ease to my main Ethernet cable. take out of box plug in - yeah multi computers have internet access.

I ran out of ports with my Lynksis wireless router with built in switch. Added this to expand my network. Plugged in my cables and boom! Five more 10/100 ports. No messing with settings or anything. Couldn't be easier.

IEEE says Ethernet is supposed to run 300 feet. Linksys says 100 feet. This was a huge problem for me as the switch didn't work at first, but after I cut 20 feet out of my cable run, everything was fine.
