I bought the first unit at the end of last year. It began to fail three months later, with frequent freezes and lockups. I replaced it in March. That unit failed with the exact same issues three months later. The third unit, which we have now in September, has started the same freezing/lockup issues as well. HP made a faulty product, and should step up to the plate and make good to their customers that spent almost $1000 on a black-white laser printer!

I've always owned HP Printers. I purchased this one because it was more for business use. I figured that the quality has always been excellent with HP so paying almost $900 for this model was going to be worth the investment. It has been a great printer, fast, nice prints until about 11 mths after purchase. The fusion roller had to be replaced. HP covered that. At 12 mths it keeps throwing a format 49 error and you have to shut it off and restart it every couple of prints. It's in the repair shop now and between HP and the shop, I hope that they can solve the problem. It has been great for the time I've had it up until now. Maybe I purchased the one lemon in the bunch.

Purchased in August 2008. Failed in October 2008. HP took FOUR WEEKS to send replacement. Replacement was a refurb (The original purchase wwas new - why can't I have a new machine as replacement??). February 2009 - Failed AGAIN. Would you buy this printer??
