I made sure I got one with the power adapter. We have too many folks that leave it on and we'd go through batteries. This also prevents someone from walking off with the unit since they would have to put batteries in!

I use this label maker with an autistic student in my class who is unable to write legibly by hand. This product has opened up a whole new world to him. He is now able to complete most work independently by typing his response and placing the label in the appropriate area of his worksheet. This has been an amazing breakthrough for him.

Had labeler 3 months now running on battery in standalone and usb to laptop. Printed about 40 labels battery life still great. Printed a few labels at a time using chaining, thus limiting label waste. Labels are pre slit making it easy to remove backing. Very happy with this product. Wish that more label supplies were available at discount prices.

I mainly use it for labeling containers and CDs. I'm very impressed with the PC label editor, but I wish the labels weren't so expensive. The label maker will waste label tape on the default settings. To make efficient use of the label tape, you need to print multiple labels per session using the 'chain' setting.
