Ok guys, here is the truth about this thing, but first a little reply to some other feedbacks.

Printer Dependent - I don’t know about u, but if your house lights dim down when using this maybe u forgot to pay your electric bill. I use this thing daily and ITS AWSOME, I have about 3 computers and a server on same circuit.

Clerical Chris - Do you print about 3000 pages a month? If so than you are getting exactly what they said the toner would last for. I print that much all the time. As far as flimsy, do you want it made of steel construction? Seems really sturdy to the rest of us.

Lucky Amy - As I said to Chris, I print allot. I print 28 page contracts on a daily basis, and when I saw your post I timed it and gave me approximately 18 - 21 pages a minute.

Law Office - Do you know how to use your collate from your computer when you hit print? It’s so easy. As for your envelopes, just simply use labels, I print 100 labels a week and works so much better than sticking each one in.

Guys this machine ROCKS and out prints any other laser color printer. The images are so neat that even a copy of a one hundred dollar bill seems original (figure of speech) but seriously my pictures were awesome.

We bought this for our small business when our Canon MF image class died.

WOW! This baby is fast! We do print jobs of 200+ pages once a week and were pleasantly surprised to find it took less than 1/2 the time of printing with the Canon.

The greyscale and BW print quality is superb (haven't tried color yet).

Set up on 5 computers was a snap - load the disc on each machine and all of them could find it on the wireless network immediately. Never had an easier set up of a shared device on our wireless network. The manual doesn't detail how to set it up on more than one computer - you install it on one machine, choose share this printer from properties and install the software on the rest of the computers.

The fan is a tiny bit noisy. Just a bit noisier than previous copiers/Multifunctions we've used. Not so noisy that it interferes or competes with normal office work, but I did notice it initally. Got used to it pretty quickly. Just wanted to mention it for those people with solo/small offices who crave quiet.

The size is great. Most MFs are pretty big, this one is just slightly larger than your average office copier/printer.

We had our Canon for over 4 years and I was kinda attached and dreading buying a new machine. Didn't believe we could get comparable, much less better quality and speed. I read the reviews on CNET which basically said it was the best machine in the price range, assuming you can live without auto duplex copying (manual is simple).

I am now actually grateful that our Canon MF died. We have a faster, better machine now and freed up some valuable desk space with a smaller footprint.

We purchased this product about 2 months ago for our small workgroup. So far it has been terrific. The software that comes with it is great and very customizable for all types of projects. So far we have not replaced 1 toner cartridge and it has probably printed several hundred documents. The bypass tray is also extremely easy to use, it hasn't jammed once. The print quality is fantastic. We really couldn't be happier with this machine.

Overall this is a decent machine for the money, but I would not recommend printing directly onto envelopes. The letter size envelopes I use are laser compatible, but they still come out creased and curled and are not useable. I have also noticed when the machine gets warm that the paper tends to be curled when it comes out. One other small point is that there is no sort/collate button and so if you need this feature on a regular basis it requires going through a series of menu options to temporarily turn the collate feature on. I would still recommend this machine if the above is not an issue for you.

Easy to Install - Worked right away - I have now had for one full year and am really very happy with this - being a Laser, I do not have to worry about inkjet cartridges that dry out and jam up - I dumped the old HP inkjet and upgraded to get this, plus replace the FAX machine I had as well. Great copier with auto-feed, but it does crinkle some envelopes when printing on them. Unexpectantly, I have found this is a great photo printer. Supplied SW is quite good - can make PDFs easily.

Nothing flimsy about this unit. When it arrives, have a healthy assistant to lift it [...]and make sure the printer table isn't wobbly. Others say it takes alot-o-power, but only on start-up. Once its going, it don't stop and the print quality is hard to beat, especially for the $$$. My next step is to get the added paper tray and see if we can over work it. We have purchased 3 other printer in the last 8 months, and all had start-up difficulties, or more. Not this one "Brother", has worked without a hitch to date - nearly 5 months
