THIS PRINTER IS BY FAR THE LOUDEST PRITER THIS COMPANY HAS EVER OWNED. YOU WOULD THINK THE PRINTER WOULD PICK AFTER ITS PREVIOUS MODELS BUT THERE'S A HUGE DIFFERENCE. QUITE HONESTLY, IT WOULD HAVE SAVED STAPLES AND THIS COMPANY SOME VALUABLE TIME IF WE HAD KNOWN THE PRINTER WOULD BE SO LOUD. IT IS NOISY AND IT BASICALLLY SOUNDS AS IF THERE IS AN AIRPLANE TAKING OFF...

ON A BRIGHT NOTE..IF YOU DON'T MIND THE NOISE, THE PRINTER PRINTS REALLY FAST AND DOES NOT JAM.

Comments about HP LaserJet P1505n Printer:

I like this printer because it's about the size of the LaserJet 1006, but this one is much faster (24 ppm vs. 17 ppm) and is network ready. I don't have a need for a networked printer, but I won't have to buy anything extra if I ever do.

I use it for printing essays and readings for my classes, along with roleplaying game materials. It's simple to set up (install basic drivers, plug in with USB) and fast. It's loud - especially compared to my previous inkjet printer - but that's not really a concern for me. The toner has a reasonable cost per page, too.

No-hassle monochrome printing - it's fantastic!

I ordered the Printer "On Line". I only had the printer 3 days, and it worked fine. I was able to share it with 3 other computers. Then, on the 3rd day a Steady Red Light appeared, when I powered ON. I contacked HP Support through the Chat feature. Tech Support had me preform a "Hard Reset". This worked, but once it is Powered OFF, then ON again, the same problem occurs. Contacted HP Chat Support again. Spent over 2 hours Catting, before Tech authorized a Replacement. HP is sending a new replacement, and I have to return the one I have. My complaint is, "Why can't I just return it to a Local Staples Store, instead of having to go through the trouble of waiting for a replacement and having to return the one that is not working?
By the way - I have owned the Laser Jet 1100 and 1200. For YEARS they gave me absolutly NO TROUBLE. That is why I stuck with HP and ordered this P1505n.

We tried to set this up as a network printer on Windows 2003 32bit system. This is a host-based printer which I believe means that it needs the programs to make it print. There is no processor in the printer. This did not work in our environment. Took two minutes to print from our programs. Seemed to work fine from MS Office though. Also had some print spooler issues the first time I loaded it from the CD.
