I bought 4 different "universal" cords before buying the one made for HP.... Best to just buy the one made for the system you have the first time! Only problem is the box runs VERY hot when plugged in overnight.

At first when I opened the package and tried to use the adaptor it didn't work. I didn't notice the extra piece in the box at first. Needed the two pieces is a problem because it is easy to come undone.

Product works great but shouldn't need an adapter to fit laptops that it is recommended for. I have to leave the adapter plugged in and disconnect the power cord.
