This machine was great right out of the box. The instructions and setup were easy (I did not use a network option). No bloated software that took a lot of space or time to set up. It's straightforward and easy to use and provides great quality. I've had Brother lasers and HP multifunction injet machines and this one beats them hands down.

Cons: It's a problem canceling a print job part way through because there is no immediate "stop" button. You have to press at least two functions to stop the machine. Also, the default is the Copy function and occasionally I will forget to choose Fax which results in many copies until I unplug or stop the machine.

All things considered though, we have two of these machines in our office (the other one is on behalf of a client.I highly recommend the Canon brand.

This is a great printer for the price. You don't need to spend a lot of money on an HP for quality. I have had 3 HP laser all-ones, which I love, but they were pricey. I use this in my classroom and it works great for copying and printing. The parts on the canon are cheaper than my HP, like the cover for the scanner, but a comparable HP was almost 4 times as much.

I might be eating my words later, because I cannot speak on reliablity of the canon.

Product is used in a Hotel office 18 hours a day printing reservations and receipts. Fax and copy functions are all used extensively throughout the day also. We loike everything about it except that the toner cartridge is small and we use it up quickly (once a month)

Claims to be 'duplex' but doesn't quite meet my definition of duplexing. Will copy two pages to both sides of a single sheet, but doesn't appear to have a method to print to both sides (duplex).

I am using this all in one printer/scanner/copier with a Macintosh and it works great. A few reviewers on other sites complained that it was not fully Mac-compatible, but I have not found that to be the case. Generally it was easy to set up and use, except for the scanning, which is not really explained. It will not scan at the press of the scan button, which just sets it to scanning mode. You must open the application Image Capture on the Mac in order to scan. I also had to search on the internet to find out out how to create multiple page pdf files (by using a shareware program Combine PDFs). Other than this, it prints, copies and scans well.
