The package states it only works with windows but my 2009 macbook can read from it but not write to it because it is formatted to NTFS. With a few click of the mouse you can reformat it to work with Macs and even partition it as you see fit. Don't pay twice the price for the mac version.
I don't understand why the docking station uses two usb ports to power it while the single, included, usb cable powers the drive just fine. Forget the docking station.

I am a technical writer with 2 offices + I am mobile and travel to clients. I use this portable 500GB device to carry ALL my files around with me wherever I go. I can plug it into any workstation or laptop depending on my situation and have access to ALL my data - what a lifesaver! Flash drives just don't hold enough so this solves that problem! I've never been happier.
It is amazingly fast too. I really expected something that would take a while to transfer, but found this to transfer very quickly.
I really can't think of anything bad about it. It would be nice if it had a case with it so I could protect it when I put it in my briefcase/shoulder bag, but that's superfluous and superficial.
I've been using it for about a month and have found no reliability issues at all. So I would recommend this to everyone.

It was primarily used to store mp3 music files and was handy to have it all in such a small unit. Just wished they had sent the cradle that was offered as a free bonus.
