This is my first laser printer so the sticker shock between prices for toner and ink is pretty significant, especially since you cant exactly refill these cartridges. I printed about 1900 pages with the black cartridge that came with the printer (in text mode) before it was locked out. Yes, there's a chip that locks you out after so many prints. Even so, it's worth it for the quality and convenience. The double sided print feature is worth the extra money. It prints pretty fast for a home user. I use it for a few office documents and printing pdf school books - approximately 1500 pages a month. I rarely print in color but it's nice to have. The footprint is larger than I'm used to - having only had injets in the house. It's no bigger than any other laser printers I've seen in offices.

I read a review somewhere about it being hard to set up. I really dont think it could be much simpler personally. Put the disk in, run the installation, connect the printer when it tells you to.

Only real gripe I have is that it didnt come with a USB cord. I mean, seriously, this is a pretty cheap item to throw in. Instead, you get this printer home, unbox it and discover that you have to go borrow a cable from something else, or even worse make a trip out to the store to purchase one. It's pretty inconvenient for a consumer and a cheap and easy fix for Lexmark. I dont get why they didnt just include one in the box.

I would have given it 5 stars if they had included an extra multipurpose tray as standard. (It is optional). There is a single-feed slot, but that is not the same. If you print both legal and letter sized, you will need to get up and manually load and re-load paper. My much older HP printer had this as standard. Color photos are not always perfectly matched, but I am just happy to have color! If you need to run old Mac OS 9.2 programs, this will do it.

Don't even bother with this one! I tried to use it with an Apple Mac and had nothing but aggravation. The driver is terrible - the printer keeps going into the PAUSE mode after each page printed - and any print job slightly large in size will not print. Over two hours with Tech support in the Philippines just yielded aggravation until finally a level 3 tech told me that the printer cannot handle large jobs. I then purchased an HP 2025DN - this printer worked IMMEDIATELY out of the box - the print quality was superior - it was significantly faster - and it has EXCEEDED all of my expectations. Kudos to HP and a big thumbs down to Lexmark.
