If you're like me and own a PC you absolutely have to get an anti-virus/anti-spyware/anti-spam/anti-all bad stuff out there program. McAfee is a good one to get. It has all the entry level must haves for protecting your computer. I generally judge a virus protection program on three things. Is it effective, does it adversely affect system speeds, and how much does it cost. I have used many of the leading virus programs and have somehow wound up using McAfee for the past four years. I can say that I have not had any virus related problems since using it. The next question is ease of use, which includes the effect the application has on your system speed and if it interrupts you while your in another program. McAfee is the best I have experienced. I've yet to see it slow down my computer and I think its because the scans run in the background. The next and last question is price. I was lucky enough to by this on sale but if you think about all the features packed in to this program, the price is pretty outstanding. if you can wait for a promotion, you'll get a really good deal.
