I am not sure why I have not seen a comment on the power surge that happens when this printer is started or wakes up from a sleep mode. The printer causes my lights in several rooms to dim and the battery backup for my computer has to kick in to keep the computer from shutting down due to the power drain. I looked at several other web sites and there seems to be a common problem with Brother AIO Laser printers, This was not something that I was expecting to be a problem from and Energy Star compliant printer. My house is not that old and I have never experienced this type of problem with other computers, printers or appliances. Too bad that I will be returning this printer, the price was right and the qulaity of the printer seemed to be OK.

Hooked right up and my windows 7 went and got the up date drivers.the scan feature and the router sharing needs improvement but for the price I expected a return to stapels but rereading the instruction got it to work with the up stairs computer. trying to get the scan to work with my windows 2007 office, I must be doing something wrong. LOL if your looking for scaning in a printer.Fax works just fine[...]
