We use these calculators on a daily basis in my math classes. I have seen them get dropped on the floor many times and in the many years I have been using the with 100+ students a year, I have only had one that suffered some damage. Very durable and reliable.

I use the product for my Algebra 2 class, and it works great. It has all the necessary features on it and I can graph. The only things I can shoot down about it is that it's huge, it can be confusing (there's a manual for that), and it is pricy.

[...] the best price for this item, I still feel its way too expensive for high school students. This was a class requirement last year for my granddaughter's nineth grade math,which is way too expensive of an item for parents to have to buy their children,being her mother is on fixed income. My granddaughter had to borrow one from the school in order for her to complete her math studies. I do think that TI should come out with one that is a little cheaper and does almost the same thing. [...] I do like the calculator, and its a very nice item, I just wish the kids were taught to use their brains instead of having to rely on machines.

School required item - Students start using this product in the 6th grade.The TI-84 offers more the TI-83 and will take your child all the way through to their college years.Save money by spending just a little more and get the TI-84.
