Great binder, mediocre rings

Lets start off with some strong points. This binder is nearly indestructible. It will stand up to any abuse you throw at it. The rubberized edges and plastic covers shrug off damage. The spine window, being easily changed and highly visible, makes labeling and retrieving specific volumes from multiple similar copies a fast and easy task.

Now for the disadvantages. The rings, while strong closing, are misaligned. Pages often snag on the uneven surfaces. Anything near this binder's capacity makes page turning a nightmare. The cover window is extremely loose. Coversheets frequently fall out.

Hopefully the Better Binder mark II will fix these problems.

Good size for lots of document. Easy to flip through pages. However, when it is full it is hard to pick up. You need both hands. Also, because the sides bend the pages will pop out if you have lots of document in it.

Would recommend with a caution.

I found this product to be a must in my application of repeatedly referencing manuals and diagrams quickly. I used staples page protectors and can easily slip notes such as price and part number updates and not have to reprint the entire page. I built a little stand that can slide in and out of my area of use to maintain a great angle of view, and attached this binder to it. The quick reference ability of this binder has saved me time and frustration from not having to open another window on my screen when all I need is a quick acct number from a phone list. Pictures quickly ID which selection I choose without opening another program to retrieve commonly used info. I chose it for it's depth which holds quite allot of categories for immediate reference. I love it and highly recommend it to anyone. A tiny piece of scotch tape keeps a loose ring tight rather than empty the binder and return it. The flaw gives it charactor.

My children always need this three inch binder for school. They have tons of papers in it and stuff it into their backpacks several times each day. It is taken out often as well. They open and close it very often daily as well. As kids will do it is left on the kitchen counter and is easily cleaned if there is a spill. We have tried many binders in the past but have to replace them before the end of the year because they fall apart. This one has been awesome. Stays together no matter what they do to it! Comes with a great warrenty/guarantee also

This binder is perfect for my needs. I use it as a genealogy binder. I designed a great family tree graphic and slipped it into the front cover section of the binder and labeled the side so that I would know what it was when put up on a shelf. I have tabs dividing the different family names and put my important documents into each family section. It is easy to handle and flexible enough to accommodate the data I receive. I've gotten compliments on it from many genealogists.

Do they have a guarantee of anykind? I have used these since they first came out and love them. However, I purchased a 3" binder September and by December the rings would no longer meet to close, therefore all papers were falling out. This has only happened with one binder. The other 3" binders are still in use and they are 2 years old!! Can I trade this in for a new one?
