Avoid this product. Have had since May 2009 and now September 2009 I have had many problems.

1. Does not come with a user manual, but instead has a CD which is very hard to find items on.

2. Right out of the box, this printer prints with a line down one side of the page if you are printing cards or something with a large amount of color on it. Fine for text docs, but not images.

3. Replacement cartridges are very pricey for the amount of time they last.

4. Menu on front of machine is not user friendly. It is hard to change set up.

5. 1 sheet feeder, which I thought would be great, does not pull items in straight even if fed into it straight. I cannot get anything to print out straight, which is just not professional looking, so therefore totally unusable to me.

6. No way to check ink levels unless you have the printer connected directly by ethernet cord. Then you must go online to the website to check the ink levels. You cannot go into properties or use window on front of machine to see how much ink is left. To me this is a horrible set up.

7. I feel it has a slow print speed and wakes up slow as well compared to other laser printers I have had.

8. Ink cartridges are very easy to change and you do not end up with ink on you, however, I have quite a bit of loose ink powder behind the door for printing(not where the cartridges go).

9. Power went out at work today then came right back on. All of my items are plugged into a surge protector. Everything else came right back on, but not the printer. A call to customer service tells me that I am not supposed to have this printer plugged into a surge protector, but directly into the wall. This does not make good sense to me, plus I do not have enough outlets to do this anyway. All my other stuff was fine and all other printers have always been powered this way with no problems.

10. The small footprint that they advertise is misleading, it was not any smaller than my previous printer.

11. Am starting the search for a new printer! Thankfully, by backup, plain jane, basic printer still works!!

[$] I thought OMG...just have to get it. It came and it was very easy instructions for the set-up. I din't have drivers for the printer but I was able to go online and google drivers and download it to the computer. I was up and running in no time. I love the color of the printer....could be a bit faster though with color prints but so far, I'm quite happy with my printer. [...]Luckily for me (and you) I found a few sites that sell the toner for less than the original manufacturer if you're trying to cut cost. [...]Will definitely come back and let you know how the compatible toners work out. (smile) Still on the ones the printer came with. (grin)

Needed color laser prints for a youth camp and so bought this for [...]. I bought an extra set of generic toner cartridges as well (different site) which worked just like the original. Printed over 1500 pages in two days (color and b&w) and the thing was a workhorse. No jams, no nothing, no issues. Color laser prints at something like 11 cents a page.

I will use for my home printing use including my children's educational printing needs.
It was very easy to set up.
Print quality is good.
As I have only started using it now I do not know how long the printer cartridges will last.
It is heavier side and not very compact.

I use it to print personal papers, cards, etc. It warms up really fast, and works really fast.

Only problem, if you turn the printer off, it prints 2pages of configurations every time you turn it on.
