My former network device, kept dropping it's connection three or more times a day. Had to unplug it, wait and plug it back again. After checking online, ventured to my local Staples, asked a few questions with very helpful associate, and went with netgear. Wow, easy to set up, had one small problem, that required a call to the 800 number. Had a tech. in 2 minutes.[...] Its been up and running now for three days in my home office, not one drop of signal,with three laptops running and two desktops. Very fast, and range. Have one computer in opposite end of home downstairs, signal strength excellent.

Great for areas of interference

Had trouble with other 2.4 GHz wireless routers. Wireless would drop or couldn't connect. After hours/days of troubleshooting, it turned out that the client had hidden wireless cameras that we didn't know about. Fortunately we brought this device, set it up in minutes and voila, wireless is now rock solid. And she didn't need the 3 range extenders someone else had installed!

GREAT ROUTER

I had some difficulty in getting the router to work wired to my main computer due to my network card. Their tech support is polite, wonderful and I was impressed with their tech support as a whole. I would buy from Netgear again because of their support.

It serves a home office where we are connected both wirelessly and via ethanet. It is easy to set up, add wireless devices, and still maintain excellent security. It is my second Netgear router, and I continue to find it dependable and easy to maintain.

The prices have come down so much on wireless routers that your best bet is to buy the highest speed, highest frequency unit... even if your computers don't communicate on the higher frequency... 1. if you need faster acces to the internet you can always buy an adaptor, & b. when you buy a new computer you'll be set with higher speed internet.

Easy To Set Up

I replaced a Lynksys G wireless router with this one and it worked like a charm. Was able to get rid of my G router booster from across the house as well. I did not need to use the Cd or anything. Just plug it in and hit the blue button. One thing with Comcast is you need to power off their Cable modem for at least a few minutes so that Comcast can establish a new connection from your location to them and from their cable modem to your new Netgear wireless router. Once you do this you are ready to go in a snap.
