For everyday writing -- easy to switch from one color to the next and thus easy to differentiate between appointments, birthdays, anniversaries; indicating importance of certain items. Occasionally, the pen will stop working in one color but not the others -- irritating but not an overall fault.

I used this pen all through high school & undergrad. Once I starting working, the look of it made me too embarrassed to use it - I wanted to look professional and the large blue and white pen didn't help. But after I started grad school, I started my search for another one 4-color-pen - an office retailer had a knock-off - terrible!!! Only a BIC 4-color medium point will do! I just wish there were a gel grip and professional look for work.

I've used this pen for over 30 years. It's convenient to have four colors available at just a click! The only compliant I've ever had about this pen is its exterior color. I wish it were one color, perhaps black or silver. Frankly, the blue and white with black band in the middle is ugly.
