as a textbook author, it is important to have writing instruments that do not complicate or slow the process down. The packaging of one dozen per package is wise, makes buying them inviting because of not having to worry about not having the appropriate instrument handy. Good pens are important to educators! I bought a pack of 12 because they were cheap. But of the first 3 pens I tried to use, all skipped &/or would not write well (I had to shake them down or make little circles on the paper so I could at least get them to write speratically).

I checked above that I am interested in VALUE. And while these pens are inexpensive, they fail at any kind of quality.
