I learned long ago to stay with the original manufacturers ink/toner cartridges. Refurbished, off brands, refilled, etc., cartridges just don't have the same print and color quality or life expectancy that original manufacturers cartridges do. I was hesitant to buy this for those reasons, but it was less expensive than the name brand, so I thought I'd try it. I've been pleasantly surprised. The color quality is the same as what I'm used to. I can't comment on the character yield yet since I haven't had it long enough. But so far based on my results, I would buy this again and I've been very happy with the quality.

After installing, my Lexmark X 6170 said there was no cartridge. I have used the Staples black ink cartridge so I thought it strange that the color would not work. I had to exchange it with the Lexmark 83 and that works, so it is not my printer.

Service & Delivery comments:

When I went to return the cartridge I got funny looks from the sales people and they were reluctant and rude. They were implying that I purchased the wrong cartridge #. Even when I said I was exchanging it with a Lexmark cartridge, there was no apology for my inconvenience and wasted time. Also, I had used a rewards coupon on the initial purchase and instead of the $12 being applied to the exchange, I paid full price and was given a $9 coupon for a future purchase. I'll go to Office Max next time I need ink.
