I, too, am replacing the magenta printhead after only 18 mos. The original printhead lasted approx 3-4 yrs. I have replaced the cyan printhead already but both the black and yellow printheads are still running on the originals. Obviously, there is something wrong with the magenta printheads.

I bought my HP all-in-one in June, 2004. I mostly print black and white and use color only occasionally - when I do, it is often for fairly high resolution photos.\nThe Magenta printhead that came with the printer lasted four years. The HP replacement I bought in August, 2007, lasted just 14 months. I hope that I just had bad luck. The original Cyan and Black printheads are still working fine; I had to replace the yellow 20 months ago and it is also working well.

I had to replace all HP Printheads within 3.5 yrs of purchase. The Magenta printhead was replaced twice during this time. Also the color became dull and smudgy looking after 3 years. [...]
