I own several of these units and had no problem assembling them. They're physically light. Which makes moving them easy when needed. They do hold a lot of weight.

It looks better in my home than in the store. There were no flaws with my bookcase. I will buy another one. It's a good value even at list price. Here are some comments regarding assembly.\n\nIt took me about 45 minutes using a screwdriver for the 6 screws under the mantle and the included allen wrench for the 20 large screws.\n\nIf I had an allen bit for my cordless drill it would have taken 15 minutes. My thumbs are still sore.\n\nStep 1 says attach 3 cross-bars. Go ahead and attach all 4.\n\nStep 2: One shelf has the warranty sticker. Install that shelf on the bottom. After getting all 16 screws just into the 4 shelves, tip the bookcase on the side and tighten the screws on the upper side. That gives you more leverage with the allen wrench. Flip around and repeat on the other side. If you try to tighten from the side, you may strip the shelf or the head of the screw.\n\nAfter step 3, stand the bookcase up and tighten the shelf screws again so there are no gaps between the shelves and the side panels.\n\nI did not install the L brackets fixing the bookcase to the wall. My bookcase is sitting on a wood floor and doesn't wobble. You might have to if it sits on carpet.

I went to purchase these the last time they were on sale.They were out of stock but asked if they could call me in 5 days to see if I still wanted to purchase. I asked if they would still honor the sale price (I think it about 45.00 for the three shelf) they said no. I said that I would then be forced to look at their competition if they wouldn't honor the sale price. I'm thrilled that I did because I found these at [...]online at[$] each for the largest size and purchased two for free delivery and because I paid with paypal got 25% back so the total for both was 72-$73. I assembled both and they are very nice looking and sturdy. A great deal! Happy for me but feel bad for Staples as I always try to purchase from them.

[...].Note that the bracket provided is TOO SMALL to physically secure against the wall.. had to spend another $4 to get my own wall fastener.Pain to put together b/c custom shapes do not allow for powertools. Would not buy, based on this reason alone.
