Comments about Staples\u00AE Forssa Black Mesh Executive Chair:

The other 2 reviews are from the the same reviewer, and I do not completely agree with the review...I am a physical therapist so ergonomics is my profession. I would agree that this chair is NOT for everyone because it lacks some adjustability and is not likely a good fit for a person of smaller stature. However, this does not mean the chair is not ergonomic at all. As a matter of fact, I tried this chair in the store before I purchased it because it was by far the most comfortable one for me. I gladly paid full price for it and quite happy with it.The problem with this chair is that the seating surface is quite deep and not adjustable, so if you have short femurs, it WILL cut off your popliteal neurovascular bundle... The arm rests are only adjustable height wise, but they both face forward and lack lateral adjustments, so for some female users with excessive elbow valgus, this chair will not be comfortable. The other reviewer also possibly had her arm rest height improperly adjusted, as the shape and feel is not too hard unless your elbow flexion degree is too high or too low...Bottom line is, TRY OUT this chair at a Staple's Store before you buy it as the adjustability of this chair is quite limited. However, for [$], this is quite a good deal and SUPER comfortable if it fits your dimensions. The back inclines independent of the seat, the mesh is cool and not too hard of to soft, the head support, if it fits you, is super comfortable too. It is not for everyone, but if it fits you, its VERY ergonomic.

Comments about Staples\u00AE Forssa Black Mesh Executive Chair:

[...]This chair seemed like a good deal, as mesh chairs are generally comfortable and it looked like it had a lot going for it, and I even got it on sale for [$]. Even at this price, I returned it, and so I definitely couldn't see spending the normal [$] for it. The only good things I have to say about it are that it's moderately comfortable (but not nearly as much as it should be) and the casters perform excellently on carpet. For the negatives, I have a list:-The allen wrench provided was slightly too small, making it turn a little in the screw heads, and it stripped one of them enough that I had to use one of my own that was the proper size.-Adjusting the headrest height should be easier.-There is nothing keeping the headrest forward, so whenever you lean into it it moves all the way back. In order to avoid this, I found I was using my neck muscles to keep most of the weight of my head off of it, which defeats the whole purpose of having a head rest.-Despite what the product page says, there's no lumbar support. [...]The chair height isn't adjustable to a low enough point, so my feet (I'm 5'8") wouldn't rest on the ground, causing my legs to hang over the edge of the seat, putting pressure on the backs of them above the knees. As much as I sit in my computer chair (the reason I'm looking for a chair like this), this cut off the circulation enough that it proved to be quite uncomfortable.-The arms are poorly designed. They're too hard, making it uncomfortable to rest your elbows on them, and they're curved down lengthwise, so they're only usable when resting your arm lengthwise on them. If you try to rest it at an angle, you'll be resting it on two ridges.-The tilt tension, even at the lowest setting, is ridiculously high. I'm 150 pounds, and I had to literally prop my feet against the wall and push back against the chair or else I had to push with a strong, fast jerking motion then quickly lock it in place once I got it in the leaning back position. It was also hard sometimes to get it locked into the position I wanted.-The farthest forward tilt position was actually leaning forward a little, which was obviously uncomfortable and awkward. The next position back was much better, but in my opinion it was leaning back a little too much. I found it to be acceptable once I got used to it, but I think it should have a position in between the two, closer to straight up and down.-The farthest back tilt position was not far enough back. I like to really lean back in my chair to watch tv/movies, and this chair didn't allow for that.-The chair creaks a lot, which can be annoying and might say something about the build quality.-Once you put it together, you can forget about getting it back apart. I had to find a way to stuff it back into the box still halfway assembled, because the piston simply slides into the leg assembly and the bottom of the seat, and sitting on the chair forces the pieces together, making them nearly impossible to separate. So if a part breaks and you need to disassemble these parts to replace it, good luck. Not to mention it's a pretty dumb combination making it that difficult to take apart and not having the chair in any of the stores to try first, so you have to buy it and put it together to try, only to run into the problem of disassembling it if/when you decide you don't like it.
