Add a clear pocket on the back seam of the notebook to insert the subject name and this notebook will be perfect. My son is a rugged 12 year old. The easy open rings mean he won't break them tugging. The side inserts allow him to pocket his homework. The construction is light weight but it takes the falls and jamming into his backpack. Stickers adhere and remove easily.
