This unit required some Registry adjustments in order for Windows XP and LightScribe to consistently recognize the drive. The correct actions were provided in the LightScribe FAQs. A very minor note: For some reason Memorex has supplied a front power-on light that amounts to a bright blue headlight shining in my workspace. You may wish to find a way to keep the glare from your eyes by pointing it away from you.

I use this drive from playing dvds on my laptop to burning dvds or CDs. Easy to set up and comes with great software. Havent had any problems and it works absolutely great.

Im considering getting another one or the internal model for my desktop.

I got this product to use with my laptop and it works great. I was worried the computer was going to be too old to work with it, but it works okay. The software that comes with it is great and has tons of features on it. My only problem was that the software would freeze up my computer. But that is probably more due to the computer and not the software. Just something to consider if you have an older computer.
