The GBC name on a product should have meant a quality built and reliable product. It should have meant a product that did as it was intended - cut paper. It should have meant it would last more than two weeks before failing. It should have meant the product had a long lasting performance life.

Don't be fooled - none of the "should be's" actually happened. The trimmer/cutter won't trim or cut. If you are looking for a paper ripper you've found the perfect product otherwise don't waste time, money and patience on this product. One would think that the cutting handle wouldn't be bowed that the two steel edges would actually meet so as to efficiently cut paper. Oops, it doesn't do any of these things either. Also if it is important that the paper is cut so that the end result is square and not a trapezoid - this isn't the product.

I would strongly suggest to keep looking for another paper trimmer/cutter as this one will not do the job.

This paper cutter is a total waste of money. It does not cut paper. I don't know why they call it a paper trimmer, it doesn't even bend the paper! [...]

This cutter is great the first 2 times it is used. Karen from Connecticut, I agree with you. After a while, it started chopping my paper up. It's a blade and paper. That should be the best combination in the world. Easy job...NOT!!! I would not recommend this cutter to my own enemy.

I don't write reviews but I had to write and tell you about this paper cutter. I bought it for use in my business but that shouldn't matter. Although it is made very well and has quality construction it has a big problem. After about a month it won't cut properly and it will start tearing your paper.

I found out that it bows slightly in the center of the cutter blade too so you don't get a straight line either.

It worked perfectly when I got it but like I mentioned, after about a month it starts tearing the paper. I called the company about it to see if they offered a replacement blade. They do not. They did, however, offer to replace the whole unit for free. I thought that was good of them. I got the replacement and the same thing happened. This time it didn't even last but 2 weeks before it started tearing the paper.

So, unfortunately it is a waste of your money to buy this paper cutter.

Oh, and, don't even try to cut sheets of labels or anything that might be sticky. It will gum up the cutter blade.

And, like I mentioned, it should not matter whether you buy this for personal or business use. If it is going to cut it doesn't matter if you use it occasionally or everyday.
