This simple sharpener does not do the job, and at the price, both the manufacturer and the retailer should be ashamed. I am sorry I kept it past the return date.... Save yourself the money and the buyer's remorse and get something else.

I have bought three of these sharpeners and all of them broke shortly after using them a few times. I thought if you purchased an expensive sharpener...it would last awhile. Not this sharpener.

I have an Xacto Magnum that I love, but it has a small shavings receptacle. I bought this hoping it would work similarly. Forget that!! It ate my pencils with no warning. My Magnum changes significantly when the pencil is sharpened, so you know to stop. I can live with a smaller receptacle; I can't live with chewed up pencils. Oh, yeah, the Magnum turns itself off to protect the motor when needed, too. Spend the extra $$$ and get the Magnum!

This was bought to replace another auto sharpener that broke. This one works much better than the last sharpening many pencils quickly and without overheating like the previous one we used. It is easy to clean and quiet, although those weren't the main reasons why I bought it.

The pencil sharpener is being used at least once a day. It's fast and precise. I do not have to put the pencil back in as it does the job the first time. The pencil sharpener seems to be sturdy and will last many years unlike many others that I have gone. Time will tell.
