As usual, I was looking for cheap. Hubby quality minded. I bought the Coustic whatever for my office and they were horrible. Returned and picked up these, knowing hubby had used Altec Lansing products before. They are good durable quality with good sound. I use them in the office for my computer & hooking directly to my IPod. I bought another pair for our Mac at home, in the kitchen and the sound is excellent. Maybe a bit too much base? but not bad. We are buying our daughters their own sets for their pods to use in the bathroom and bedrooms. Excellent value.

The dark red outline around the circumference of the two holes on each speaker add a very stylish appearance. The little "Tone" knob is a quick and simply way to adjust the treble/bass without having to go into your computer's Sound Control, which I think is quite troublesome.
