If you've got a laptop with side USB ports I'm sure this would work well, but the built-in USB cord on the unit isn't even an inch long, so it's completely useless as a desktop USB hub unless you buy a USB extension cord. Plus, the power cord plugs into the front of the unit, again, not ideal for a desktop configuration.

Perfect attached to Airport Extreme to connect our multiple external hard drives. The short cord is actually really nice for this, because it doesn't get tangled or take up extra space. Plus, I can always find it if I need to connect/disconnect. File transfer speed seems really fast (almost as fast as direct connection), doesn't even need power cord but it's a benefit. Easy set up (just plugged it in), LED lights are nice touch and not included on some more expensive models. Including a customer support number is nice too - haven't needed it, but it's helpful. Good for laptop too. If you need a longer cord, get the non-travel version, but for laptops/Airport Extremes/etc, perfect. Only taking off one star because power cord takes up a lot of space on the power strip for such a little hub.

The cord connecting the device to the computer is too short so it gets in the way of other devices (e.g. the mouse) or dangles down and interferes with desk items. It would be much better to have a device that stands on the desk.

The hub itself provides the added connections I wanted for my many usb devises, but the connecting cable length of 1 inch makes it VERY inconvenient for hooking up these devices.
