Good toner life and cost per page, not as good as the high end HPs but better than most desktop/home office lasers. Vista has problems with the drivers, every now and then it will lose communication. HP updated the driver but now it seems to start printing slower.\n\nScanner problem is that the ADF, especially after the first page, thinks that all documents are legal size rather than letter. I can fix in post with Adobe Standard, but I've had better scanners for that. However, for the convenience of an all-in-one, there will be trade-offs.

When I bought it, the M2727nf worked well for a few months. Then the unit started freezing up, so they sent me a replacement unit. After about 2 months, the replacement unit did the same thing. I'm on my 3rd unit, hopefully it works this time.

I use this in my home based office and it has proven to be an excellent choice. My only regret is not getting a color laser printer but at the time I purchased this one the HP color printers were twice as much or more. The only technical problem I have had is in the fax mode. I have my fax number set as a second line (distinctive ring number) on my home phone and have the fax set to pick up on the distinctive ring as provided in the set up features. This was working fine for the first few months but one day it just stopped working and ever since I cannot get it to work properly. I have had it for over a year now and it is proving to be a good value over all.

Our first one worked great for a few months, then it starting giving error messages and freezing up with increasing frequency. Many chats and phone calls to HP finally got us a replacement -- but the replacement did the same thing. Got another replacement, also had the same problem. Problem is not the computer (it's clean), but the printer. Plugged in a 2nd unit we had bought (same model) to the computer and it works fine -- for now at least.

This printer is used to print documents single and duplex at least 5 days a week. I also scan alot of documents to be e-mail. It does great. The copy feature is great too. The only feature I have not used on this printer is the fax. Great buy for all in one laser printer. Have owed the and used copier for over 4 months now.
