Netbooks are lightweight, ultra portable internet devices designed specifically for using the web. They do not have the same capabilities as notebook computers. They are built to run basic applications and execute one task at a time. Netbooks will allow you to surf the web, email, view and share photos, chat face to face using the built-in webcam, listen to music, and network on sites such as Facebook and MySpace.
Netbooks do not come with CD or DVD drives, but portable ones can be purchased separately so you can download and run software.

I have tried so many mini-computers in the past with great dissappointment which included the NEC MobilePro 900c which cost 3 times what this unit cost. This is the very first netbook, mini-pc that I actually love and can't get enough of it. It walks all over my larger DEll Inspiron 8500 Laptop in many ways. I am also very glad it came with Windows XP Home and NOT Vista Home. It runs very fast once you remove all the garbage add-on software. I have attacheded USB DVD burners, USB mice, USB GPS ( Way Cool For Sure ) using Microft 360 USB GPS, USB Flash Drives, all worked without a problem. The Battery life is at 2 to 2.5 hours with the original factory battery but larger longer lasting ones are available if required. I just can't find fault in this unit at this time. Got this for Christmas after some heavy hinting. Sants Claus was good to me this year. Go out and get one ! You won't be dissappointed BUT don't be fooled by imitations. I have ssen some out there that look just like this Acer Aspire One, but they are far from it.

I was looking for a backup computer that is lightweight and easily portable. This one suits that perfectly. And even with fairly large fingers I don't have a problem typing. Amazing to find so much in a small and well-priced mini.

This is a great micro computer, I would recommend for a student's first computer or a professional on the go that does not want to haul around a laptop or tablet pc. I take mine with me every where, I bought a external DVDRW, loaded Office on it and can do my work any where, download my data to a SD card or jump drive to load on my office system. I have not been disappionted yet!
