I will NEVER again buy an Epson printer of any kind. I got my "all-in-one" for only [$]...NOW I know why! Even with Epson cartridges inserted, the think WILL NOT PRINT BECAUSE IT WILL NOT RECOGNIZE THE INK CARTRIDGE! It has to do with the "computer chip" that they put in the cartridges that make it so that it tells you the ink cartridge is out of ink when it's not, you replace it, it either won't acknowledge the ink cartridge or even if you put a full one in, it won't see that the ink is full!!! STAY AWAY FROM ALL EPSONS!

I use this printer at home and maybe print 10 pages a week. I think it's a great printer for the price! It is noisy, but it prints very fast and I've had no trouble with printing text or pictures. No trouble changing out ink cartridges and in my humble opinion the ink is affordable compared to HP or Dell. I would definitely purchase this again!

I love my Epson Workforce 40. My husband and I got it to replace our old printer. It's super fast and since we both have laptops we love the wireless feature. It's not really a photo printer though. I do a fair amount of photography and I order my prints online or take them to R..z if I want good prints, but as a standard text/image printer it's perfect. I print my business cards and order forms on it and it's perfect for that. The ink doesn't seem to smudge much either.

We use Linux and the driver support is almost non-existant, there is NO Fedora 10 driver. I got the printer to work in a very basic mode by selecting other Epson printer drivers until I found one that works in a very basic mode. I now can print text but limited graphics. I feel that a few days effort by Epson could eliminate most if not all of the problem. I realize that Linux is NOT Windows, but Linux is on par with the Apple for popularity and Apple has drivers. The printer seems to be quite nice and is used daily with no problems.
