They melt in laser printers

I bought these to make mailing patient statements more efficient. I got our first box and printed our return address on a small stack of envelopes only to find that the heat from the fuser caused the window to shrivel up and/or melt through. I assume that this is a problem that can be gotten around by using an ink jet printer, but our office doesn't currently have one. I was also disappointed to find that these envelopes aren't available with a security tint.

It would be nice if we were told if this product is recyclable. If the window is glassine (a form of paper), it is. If the window is plastic, it is not. Other web sites provide this information.
