The great disadvantage is that you need a full "line of sight" with the transmitter to get audio.

This product enables me to listen to the TV at a volume I can hear, yet enables my wife to listen at a level comfortable to her. It is great. I would recommend it to anyone who has difficulty hearing TV at regular volume and wants enhanced listening pleasure. It is nice to hear what is being said without having to ask "what did he say". My only criticism is there is not a portable unit that I can take to the movie theatre, now that would be A+.

I bought the headphones for listening to books on my iPod and it is great for that. However, if I forget and walk up the stairs or around a corner, it cuts out. This was an extremely good sale price and well worth the money. It is excellent for listening to TV when others don't require as much volume as I do.
