I followed the instructions and was ready to make adjustments because I have an 8 year old Dell 4300. But none seemed necessary. I really didn't think my old computer would run it at maximum resolution, but it did. However, to increase image size, I did adjust the screen resolution downward some and may do some more to see what happens. I also fiddled with the adjustments on the side of the screen and may have tweeked it a bit. The monitor itself is attractive and seems very sturdy compared to some I've seen. The visibity for pictures and print is quite good. I was impressed that I can now show two Word documents or a Word and a PDF document side by side for comparison, copy and paste, or editing. Very helpful. Viewing the Internet is also much better with a 21.5 inch widescreen. I can now see a whole page at once. I am getting used to the looks of pictures. While they are quite good, they do look different than on a CRT screen - somewhat stretched. They also seem brighter and have better color. I've only had this monitor for less than a week so I can't speak to how it will hold up. But I've bought nothing but Dell computers in the past and have been pretty satified with their products, with the exception of one hard drive. I'm hoping this Dell TFT widescreen will give me at least four years of use, if not more. I plan to use it with my next computer which I'll probably buy when MS Windows 7 gets more established (you know all the bugs a new operating system has when it is first released). I didn't give it 5 stars because I've only owned it for a very short time.
