It does sharpen well, but the suction holds only for about 1 minute. Cover comes off way too easy - just touch it, and it falls off.
What a shame.

very cheap design. The vacuum mount works very well, but the rest of it is very cheap and falls apart every time you try to use it.

Although the online ad calls this a "Boston" product and the sharpener in the photo has "Boston" written on it - and - although the box in which it came says "Boston" on it, it is actually an "X-ACTO" sharpener. I probably would have ordered it anyway, but unannounced anomalies like this bother me. It seems to be working well.

I am a high school math teacher and my students were always complaining that they couldn't get a sharp point on their pencil. Now, all I hear about is how this is the best pencil sharpener ever! The only downside, is that it can get annoying when the vacuum suction breaks and you have to reattach to the desktop...but then again, the advantage is that you can detach and lock away safely so it doesn't diappear from your classroom when you are not there!
