Just bought this desk and so far I'm pretty happy with it. I also bought the accompanying hutch and it looks really slick in my home office. I do agree that there is not an abundance of drawer space, but that's why I bought the hutch. Also, the space that is meant for a CPU is a little small and can't even come close to housing my G5. Almost all the comments about assembly are true. There are about 18 different types of screws and it makes it a very slow process having to stop and find the appropriate labeled baggy. However the instructions are perfectly clear and easy to follow. USE A DRILL TO SCREW EVERYTHING! My hands are destroyed trying to manually screw in all the parts. Besides these annoyances, it is a decent quality piece that looks great, I am happy.

This desk took a while to assemble, BUT it was not hard to assemble at all. Just very time consuming (3 1/2 hours), but goes much easier with two people, one reading the directions and getting the part numbers ready while the other is just doing the assembly. The desk is very sturdy, very nice looking and a great buy at this price. I actually liked the look so much I bought the matching file cabinet a week later. The only downside to the desk is the that its hard to keep in perfect condition, meaning it scratches a little easier then I would want. I put cardboard down and bubblewrap while assembling and got away with only one scratch during assembly. Don't slide hard items across the desk and you will be good to go, and a felt pen would definitely cover the scratches up as they are minor. I would not say that is enough of a con to not buy the desk. It has a good amount of space and drawers pull out and slide easily, everything lined up very well (one drawer had to losen screws and center while attached, but not a big deal), no complaints really!

The desk takes time to assemble, but it is very sturdy and well worth it. However, the finish is easily scratched, and I already managed to put a few noticeable scratches and gouges in it just from pieces and hardware coming in to contact during construction. [...] but the surface doesn't seem to stand up to the product's sturdy construction. Overall, it is a good product but perhaps not so ideal if you have kids or will be using the desk for more than just a writing surface or for the computer. There is a lot of work space and adequate storage for its size.

The desk was not as difficult as people have been posting. The price and overall value are dead on. I do agree that the desk can easily get scratched or marked, but as long as you don't abuse it, I feel confident it will continue to hold up nicely. I do wish the was an extra shelf where the computer tower would go. Since I have a laptop, I would have enjoyed the extra shelving or a 2nd filing cabinet.

The keyboard drawer finish was damaged, however, the manufacturer sent a new one out immediately.

This desk is being used in a spare bedroom/home office.
Pros: Looks Great! VERY Solid/Sturdy. My Quad-core CPU fits and doesn't overheat with the door closed!
Cons: The surface is easy to scratch. I was being ultra-careful during assembly, but still managed to make a couple small scratches before it was finished. Having this for a few weeks now, some of the finish is already wearing away on the drawer corners. Staples should probably not say "durable finish" since it doesn't appear to be very durable!
All in all, a great value for a budget conscious shopper. Looks nice and is very solid. Worth the price.
