Have used this lamp SOLELY in my office. My night stand lamp died. Used this lamp once as a temporary stand in. Liked it in there so much, I am now getting one for my night stand. The light is bright for good reading, or can be dimmed if your spouse is trying to sleep and the light bothers them. Easy to turn on if you are half asleep as it has a weighted base so doesn't tip over if accidentally knock into it, while fumbling for switch. Switch is easy to both reach and find in the dark.
