I separate the units and then stack them as high and low that I need for the purpose. For my business, I stack them 11 high and 3 across. Everything is easy to find as everything has its place...i.e. blank computer checks, invoices, several differnt forms, packing slips waiting for their invoices,rubber stamps, pens pencils highlighters markers, manuals, blank CDS, back ups, etc, etc. So, from 6 units, I made 3 units and still had 3 drawers to use for my crafting. They snap together real tight and are very sturdy. Just be sure to put the heavy stuff in the bottom drawers.
