I use this product for taking notes and works fine for that, but you can't open or close the rings or turn any of the pages. If I were you I would stick to the wire bound notebook.

This binder is the best! It holds all of my information and papers for school, and it keeps me so organized! I reccomend this binder to anyone who wants to get organized!

this new flex binder is great when taking notes expecially in college. the only problem i would say is that at times it can be hard to turn the pages due to the rings being made from plastic so sometimes theres a small space between the left and the right ring, but the pros are that it doesnt have the extra weight like binders do, its light like a spiral notebook and easy to carry, not to mention, it comes in about 6 or so fun colors to chose from. so no more "serious black"!

The Five Star Flex worked well with me for the first couple months of school, but as I put more and more papers in it the dividers began to come out and rip, the holes of the notebook paper would rip and even the rings broke off.

The Flex is very slim and easy to carry around and it is also easy to stay organized with, however I wouldn't suggest getting one if you're going to use it frequently and store a lot of things in it.

I'm in love with this product and since I'm in High School I needed something that would last, wouldn't bend out of shape, didn't weigh much, and didn't take up a whole lot of room in my backpack. This binder did all of these things, but I had 4 binders that ended up breaking rings because of everyday wear and tear. But I had another flex binder that had the thicker bands on it, and it lasted throughout the whole year without breaking any of the rings. So my advise is to make sure that when you go and make a $10- $50 dollar investment, that you make sure you get the ones with the thicker rings, because there is a difference in durability. It is also very tedious when you want to move paper around, or take out paper because you have to unlach every single ring, but it's not that big of a deal because you'll get quicker at it.

Overall, it's great. I got this for college because it's easy to transfer notes to a different binder if you bring the wrong one, or what ever happens. I hated having to use one subject notebook for each class. The only thing is that the paper rips really easily out of the binder!
