Comments about Netgear Powerline AV Ethernet Adapter kit:

This product works very well. No software to install; I plugged one of the unit into an empty outlet next to the router and the second one into another outlet next to my LCD TV. That's all you need to do to get internet over your power line. It doesn't get any simpler than that. It fast and really works. It is also expandable by plugging other netgear powerline AV into outlets in other rooms.

Comments about Netgear Powerline AV Ethernet Adapter kit:

I bought into Netgear products years ago with Wifi standards of a and b; recently I got 2 Netgear Draft N routers. One was for a base station and one as a repeater to expand internet access to dead spots in my house. That was a frustrating failure with unreliable coverage, configuration issues, and hardware that burnt out. HOWEVER, I gave this a try to at least get an Ethernet cable connection to my dead spot and IT WORKED!!! The speed works as if I was connected to the base router and it worked right out of the box with no configuration. Now I just hold my breath that the actual physical devices don't die on me.

Comments about Netgear Powerline AV Ethernet Adapter kit:

This product is amazing. I have a fairly large house with a sprawling layout. I have a LinkSys WAP54G and a LinkSys WRE54G Range Expander for wireless, with the WRE54G in the Home Theater room for the TiVo HD and a Laptop I hooked up to the big screen. Using the Wireless was slow and unreliable, even with the WRE54G in the same room. Also, my wife connects wirelessly to the network on her laptop from a desk in the next room. Connections are always being dropped, the TiVo looses track of the wireless connection, and sometimes the WRE54G just locks up and the signals become really weak. So I got one of these sets to try it out.I hooked it up to the Router in my office and plugged it into a wall socket. Then, plugged the other one into the wall socket near the TV setup. Hooked the Laptop up to it and configured the Ethernet connection. Speed? Unbelieveable. I went to [@] and did a speed test and I'm getting readings off the meter with my highest-speed Comcast connection.I just bought another pair to hook up my Wife's laptop and my Son's laptop. Eventually I'll get a couple more pairs and expand my wired network even more.FYI - I know I can upgrade the wireless to N, but the equipment that accesses it (Laptops, TiVo, etc.) all use G so that would be useless.NOTE: Using the provided utility that comes on the CD, you can set up your own encryption key and see all of the units on the grid and their throughput speeds in real time.
