Comments about Netgear USB 2.0 Mini Print Server:

This print server does what it is suppose to do and is very easy to set up. You don't even need the CD if you know how to set one up manually. The setup CD gives you the wizard option and is only needed for the novice. The print server sets up in minutes and then just works . The reason I had to go with a print server is I upgraded my PC to Windows 7 64 bit and I could no longer connect through a PC that had a printer share on it. This was on older PC with an older HP printer. After setting the printer up on the Negate print server I was able to connect install the driver and print.

basically I have set this darn thing up a few times. For the first day it works fine, and then my printer goes on stand by and when I try to print the print server does not wake up my printer. The only way to get it going again is to completely uninstall the software and start all over.

This Netgear print server is VERY easy to set up, and for the most part is reliable!!. My only complaint is that the computer I used to set up the print server installs Netgears Software that aids in setting the IP Address, etc. Well, any time I print, almost immediately after sending a print job to the printer, I get a notice that the print job has failed. But, if I wait about 5-10 more seconds, the print job starts.
I really like the print server and being able to leave the printer on (and print to it from the other computers in my house) without a computer!!

I would recommend looking for another product. The device requires software on each PC and if installed on an admin account does not always work when some one with a restricted log in trys to print.
