- It is recommended to first "break in" your chalkboard before regular use.
- Wipe down the writing surface with a clean dry cloth to remove any dust or moisture.
- Chalk the entire writing surface with the side of a piece of chalk.
- Work chalk into the writing surface by erasing thoroughly with felt eraser.
- Repeat steps "3" and "4".
- Clean the board with a soft cotton cloth and you board is ready to use.
How to "break in" your chalkboard
- Chalkboard should be cleaned at the end of each day of use.
- Erase the writing surface with a clean felt eraser and then wipe down with a soft cloth.
- Once a month wash the writing surface with a soft cotton cloth and clean water.
- Dry the writing surface with a soft cloth.
- Remember to again "break in" the chalkboard after monthly washing as you would a new chalkboard.
- Use chalk with little or no wax content for best results.
