I expected better from RCA

The base caller ID does not work correctly. When you hit the button, instead of getting caller ID, you get ring tones. Cannot return this to Staples, so will have to send it off for warranty repair, which means I will be without any office phone during the time it is out. In additon, the battery drops to 2 bars right after you take your first call.

Was very disappointed in this product, especially as much as it cost.

This RCA 2-line phone is used at a fast-paced B&B. We are getting an identical replacement today because Line 1 acts like it won't "hang up" but you need to remember that the hands-free unit has been dropped repeatedly over two years as we are always frantically working around the inn. A few days ago we replaced the hands-free battery after two years of constant, hard use, but "Line 1" still has the problem of working intermittantly (sp). For those who have said in other reviews that the battery has a short life -- Be sure to follow the instructions! WHEN YOU FIRST CHARGE THE HANDS-FREE UNIT, let the hands-free charge OVERNIGHT -- do NOT remove the hands-free unit from the base phone during its initial charge. As an innkeeper, I need to be "on" 24 hours a day. I sleep with the hands-free unit beside my bed which is 25 feet away from the base unit. The hands-free has never failed to provide ample power, in fact, anywhere on over a quarter of an acre. And the sound quality has always been great.
