My third pencil

I now have three because I like them so much, I always have one close by. First two are German made. The last one is a little different and comes from China. Purchased the last one on line from Staples. Like the two from Germany. They are five or six sided, the one from China is round and rolls away easier. Would not have purchased the value pack had I known it was from China. The single pencil is from Germany(I think). I will recommend the single pencil but not the value pack.

I have a similar one but decided to buy this value pack as a 2nd set, one for my workshop and one for my pencil case for sketching. The value pack comes with an eraser with built-in sharpener, but upon opening the package... where is the sharpener in the eraser? It's just a useless plastic box that holds the eraser. Yes I know it has a built in sharpener in the butt-end of the pencil itself. But the eraser box even has "sharpener" printed on it.

The led refills are cheaper if you buy this value pack than buying refills on their own. Price-wise it's a good value. Though I prefer my ATI pencil, look almost identical but nicer quality and better led gripping mechanism, but that did cost more than this value pack. On a budget, I'd recommend this. If you want quality I'd probably go with a higher-end 2mm technical pencil.

Wanting to have one at home and one at the office, I purchased a "value pack" based on the Staedtler name and without looking at the back. This pack is "Made in China". Shortly after buying, the barrel began cracking. I have had one stamped GERMANY for years with few signs of wear. I will be buying the pencil only pack since it is "Made in Germany". Staedtler needs to be wary of giving themselves a bad name with lower quality products.
