Plastic bottom where the screws go in would not last--typical of plastic. Add bolts on top of the holes, then screw them. You get extra firm anchor. The switch is unique and not found even in an expensive unit. Just turn the clock-wise dome-shape (that's the switch) and it turns very smoothly. My last lamp broke at the switch, rendering it useless, and this one runs so smoothly that it doesn't seem to have problem there. On top of that, it is cheap. This lamp for its price range does NOT deserve a bad review.

The clamp base broke the very first day I set it up. The screw for positioning didn't tighten, so the lamp pretty much stayed in one position, uncomfortable.

This is a piece of garbage. It would not stay in place and when I tried to tighten it up it broke. Made with plastic parts. Even at less than $20.00 it is way over priced. They should pay me to take it.
